Supplier Management Associate

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Supplier Management Associate to join our quality and supply chain team. This role is vital in recruiting, onboarding, and management of North American suppliers exporting technology products into Japan. Critical to the position is maintaining compliance with industry and international export control standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of supplier contract management principles, export control regulations, and supply chain operations. 

While experience in international business and logistics is desired, college interns and new hires will be considered. After a successful introductory period, the position has opportunity for international and domestic travel to customers, suppliers and tradeshows. 

Duties

• Manage supplier relationships to ensure adherence to quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
• Collaborate with suppliers on corrective and preventive actions and process improvements.
• Assist in sourcing activities, including supplier selection, qualification, and onboarding.
• Prepare and manage requests for quotations, facilitate contract negotiations, prepare purchase orders, manage delivery schedules and status, and coordinate shipping logistics and invoicing.
• Effectively communicate with the Cornes Technologies’ sales teams in Japan to understand customer objectives. Apply program management skills to monitor critical purchase orders.  

Requirements

• Experience with supply chain management and sourcing activities.
• Experience with international shipping preferred
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and business cultures. Knowledge of Japanese is helpful. 
• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering, Quality Management or related field preferred.
• US Citizenship required due to the management of military, DoE and ITAR related import and exports.
