Merchandising Internship (Fall/Winter)

Beautylish is offering a unique 4 month rotational merchandising internship that will take you through multiple departments within the company and offer invaluable perspective into a startup atmosphere and the cosmetics industry. Our ideal candidate is highly motivated, excited to learn about all facets of the company, is well-versed in beauty products, and has long-term career goals in merchandising or marketing.

This internship is reflective of our integrated business model, which values every level of contribution and encourages employees to view their roles in relation to the goals and processes of every department within the company.

  • You will start by spending 5 weeks in our Fulfillment Center in South San Francisco in hands-on roles with our Inventory and Fulfillment teams, where you will gain frontline experience with our exceptional standards and attention to detail.
  • Next you will spend 1 week working alongside our Beauty Advisors, where you will witness and practice our core service values in our most direct interactions with customers.
  • Lastly, you will spend 10 weeks working at our offices in San Francisco where you will learn the inner workings of our Merchandising department, assisting with everything from managing new release calendars to product placement on the site and demonstrating full knowledge of how those decisions affect every department you’ve moved through.
Responsibilities will include:
  • Audit product and brand database for updates and accuracy
  • Product setup and asset gathering
  • Assist with community initiatives to gather constructive product reviews
  • Participate in brand and product launch planning sessions
  • Create and manage product release calendars
  • Continually improve and communicate processes to support the merchandising team
  • Pick, pack, and ship customer orders
  • Manage, receive, count, and inspect incoming inventory shipments
  • Update and maintain SKU database
  • Provide exception customer service via email, live chat, and phone

  • Proficient in spreadsheets (e.g. Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets)
  • Pursuing or completed Bachelors degree
  • Already a fan of Beautylish

Requirements:

  • Must be available for 16 consecutive weeks beginning in November, including through the holiday season
  • Full time hours (40+) preferred; part time hours (25-30) may be considered
  • Must be able to commute reliably to our South San Francisco warehouse and Financial District office
  • Must be able to lift 25+ lbs and stand for long periods
  • Must be eligible to work in the US

This is a paid internship with the potential to become a permanent position. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and should be submitted as soon as possible.
