Mechanical Engineering Intern

Job Description
This is an intern hire to work within the industrial mechanical engineering team performing mechanical design, conducting engineering analysis, building and testing prototypes, and creating and managing drawings. The intern will be expected to design parts, update drawings, assemblies, configurations, and BOMs in Solidworks and PDM Works. Internship positions are paid, but we cannot provide housing and relocation reimbursement. Our facility is located in Richmond, CA and easily accessible by BART/Amtrak (shuttle provided), Hwy 580, and the scenic Bay Trail.

General Requirements for Engineering Internship:
• At least 2-3 years of engineering education at the university level.
• Excellent communication skills
• High level of motivation and interest in robotics and human augmentation
• Strong work ethic, self-motivation, organization skills, and desire to learn
• Demonstrated creative problem solving
• You must be able to present evidence of your legal right to work in this country on your first day of employment
• Strong teamwork


Mechanical Engineer Preferred Skills
• Knowledge of fundamentals of mechanical design or hands-on design experience
• Proficient in Solidworks - Comfortable working with large assemblies, multiple configurations, internal and external references, etc.
• Prototyping and machine shop experience
• Basic knowledge and understanding of GD&T
• Strong technical writing skills
