Public Health Student Trainee

As a Student Trainee, you will have the opportunity to support senior staff in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of various health programs, communications and marketing activities. The position enhances program effectiveness by applying relevant health communication and social science principles, practices, and theories to HHS health, regulatory or human services programs. Additionally you will:

 

Assist with providing quantitative and qualitative research on health communication topics; with the development of digital health communication and implementation of multimedia content.

Assist with drafting and editing content and monitoring analytics for social media platforms; prepare talking points, briefing materials, and presentations on health related topics.

Assist with conducting evaluations of social science programs; and prepare findings of evaluations and analyses of social science programs and topics.

Apply communication theories and models to communication campaign development; maintains ongoing communication campaign and partnership activities.

Provides basic technical assistance on routine, non-controversial projects or activities that are covered by precedent, established policy, or accepted practice.

Coordinate media production, risk communication activities, marketing campaigns, and/or publications for professional and public audiences.

Serves as representative for all related projects and activities and maintains relationships with customers.

 

Pathways Intern Eligibility Requirements:

 To be eligible for the Pathways Internship Program, you MUST be currently enrolled or accepted for enrollment and seeking a degree (diploma, certificate, etc.) in an accredited college (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges) or professional, technical, vocational, or trade school; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institution pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate on a full or half-time basis.

 

 To be eligible for the position, you MUST be currently enrolled at the time of application or be accepted for enrollment in the Fall 2018 Term; you MUST maintain enrollment through the Fall 2018 Term and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

 

 NOTE: You MUST provide proof that you are currently enrolled or have been accepted for enrollment in the Fall 2018 Term at least on a half-time basis. You will be required to provide an official transcript showing proof of enrollment and GPA at the beginning of each term, while in the Pathways Internship Program.

 

*** Must have obtained and maintained a GPA of 3.0 or higher ***

Key Requirements:

Proof of student status must be submitted with the application

All students must be in good academic standing

Students must provide official transcripts if selected

Must be registered for Selective Service, if required

You must be suitable for Federal Employment, determined by a background investigation

Students must sign a Pathways Agreement before entry onto duty (EOD)
