Data Evaluation Intern

Join SHELTER, Inc. as we engage in an exciting initiative by a funder collaborative in which we build the practice of listening to the people we serve by implementing surveys and feedback loops. The Data Evaluation Intern will be integral to all aspects of our work on this initiative.

SHELTER, Inc. is the largest provider of services to individuals and families who are homeless in Contra Costa County. We opened our doors in 1986. We are a respected known leader in our community charged with eliminating homelessness. JOB SUMMARY
Under direct supervision of the Director of Data Evaluation, the Data Evaluation Intern will take responsibility for the administration of surveys, analysis of survey and focus group data, and creation of data dashboards. This is a temporary, half-time position.

AREA of FOCUS
• Process participant surveys
• Engage participants to encourage a high return rate
• Organize participant focus groups
• Analyze both qualitative and quantitative survey and focus group data using Microsoft Excel
• Create data dashboards
• Other tasks as required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, public policy or related field
• Intermediate level skills using Microsoft Excel
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office Outlook, Word
• Experience cleaning and analyzing quantitative data using descriptive statistics

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Proficiency using Microsoft Access
• Experience coding qualitative data
• Experience using Survey Monkey
• Experience creating data dashboards
• Experience using Tableau
• Experience conducting hypothesis tests

This position offers a flexible part-time work schedule and is an excellent opportunity for a graduate student of research, social sciences or related field. SHELTER, Inc. offers a pay rate of $18.75 to $25.00 per hour up to 20 hours per week.
