Social Media & Digital Marketing Internship

Want to be the social media voice of a news media startup?
Quibbl is an interactive news feed where users bet on the outcomes of trending news stories for points: more right answers gives you a top spot on the leaderboard and well-earned credibility. In contrast to other platforms that encourage echo-chambers and viral low-credibility news, we challenge users to read the news and make thoughtful predictions about what’s going to happen next, incentivizing them seek new perspectives, apply critical thinking & understand diverse viewpoints.
We’re actually doing something about fake news.
After being recognized by Silicon Valley’s YCombinator as one of the top 100 startups out of 10,000+ applications, we launched in Spring 2017 (pre-Beta) - find us @ quibbl.me - and have quickly scaled up our user base and product capabilities. There’s work to do, but our initial user engagement metrics exceed Buzzfeed’s and tell us that we’ll become an important player in online media if we can keep building a team of passionate, creative people. If you’re someone interested in helping us create innovative ways to reach our ambitious goal of becoming a thought-provoking marketplace of ideas, then we need you on our team.

We’re looking for individuals with an understanding of social media and digital marketing to join our Creative Team as a Social Media/Digital Marketing intern.
The Quibbl Creative Internship is an opportunity to generate and post social media content on various platforms and organically grow the company’s user acquisition through creative projects. You’ll have the opportunity to help shape Quibbl’s online social presence, build a weekly digital marketing newsletter campaign and help design our website. You’ll work closely with the Creative Editor to learn practical content creation skills and meet regularly with the rest of the Creative/Media staff, a team spread across London, Chicago, New York, Boston and Berkeley.

It takes all types of talent to build something like this from the ground up. We’re open to and actively looking for physicists, screenwriters, finance majors and historians: all educational backgrounds and experience levels are equally welcome to apply. Whatever you bring to the table, expect to learn a range of practical content production skills on the job.

The Social Media/Digital Marketing Intern will be expected to contribute a minimum of 8-10 hours per week. Commitments beyond this can be discussed. To apply, please send a very brief introduction and a resume or portfolio to davidatooke@icloud.com. Portfolios can include social media posts, graphic design, and/or video production. We are currently seeking interns and will contact applicants on a rolling basis - apply ASAP!
