Deputy Editor-in-Chief Internship

1. WHAT IS QUIBBL?
Tired of fake news & low credibility content farms?
Quibbl is a gamified, interactive news platform and community experience designed to address the issue of “fake news” while bringing readers engaging content from diverse sources. Quibbl users can read and discuss content on any topic and make predictions about future events (from US / Russian relations to The Bachelor Season Finale). Predictions are measured against real-world outcomes to determine both externally visible user rankings and internal metrics for determining user placement in feeds. Over time, Quibbl will become the premier online social platform for credible news exchange and high-quality discussion of topics like politics, entertainment, sports, etc. We are the only platform designed for a mass-market that incorporates users’ credibility and historical accuracy as defining metrics.
Broadly, we’re very interested in both the issue of fake news and measuring credibility online to enable accurate crowdsourcing.

2. OUR MISSION - CURRENT STATUS
This spring, we launched an early alpha prototype (quibbl.io) - we have a ton of work to do, but despite numerous limitations, our initial metrics for user engagement are remarkable. If we build this platform to scale and get our operations tight, we can become an important and lucrative player in the online media space. To get there, we need passionate, creative, driven people like you.
We think the strength of our team is the reason that we were recognized this year as YCombinator finalists (top 100 startups out of over 10,000+).
Quibbl careers: It takes all types of talent to build a great firm from the ground up. If you’re someone who enjoys creating innovative ways to reach ambitious goals, who is open to and energized by receiving honest feedback, and who likes asking and being asked: “why?” — then we should talk. We don’t just look for people who can do a particular job. We look for people we want to share our lives with.
