Office Assistant

THE ROLE

Aspire Education Project is hiring a Office Assistant who will be an integral part of our small, dynamic team. The Office Assistant will assist our Director of Programs and Executive Director in serving tutoring clients and institutional partners. This is a position well-suited for Cal students interested in nonprofits, nonprofit operations, educational equity, data management, and teamwork in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. On-the-job training is provided.

The Assistant will assist with phone calls and emails, perform operations duties, complete data entry, grade tests, and direct clients to the appropriate resources. This assistant will also contribute to marketing tasks, including creating original marketing materials, outbound communication, constructing mass emails, contacting former and current clients and employees, making web updates, and working with other staff to maintain clear channels of communication. Lastly, they will assist Directors with special projects to facilitate the smooth running of the organization. 

The Assistant will also be the lead proctor for our in-office SAT and ACT practice tests, which are held on Saturday mornings once a month. 

This is a flexible, part-time job (averaging 10 hours per week) designed for students.

Qualified applicants will have: some progress towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree; excellent communication skills; experience with Microsoft office (including Excel) and Google Drive; a desire to work for educational equity; and a collaborative and can-do spirit. Experience with Salesforce and Wordpress is a plus.
