Online Course Video Editor

Professor Malcolm Potts is seeking an undergraduate or graduate student to lead the editing of a public health online course called A Sustainable World. This is a great opportunity to use your video editing skills to create an innovative online course that will benefit generations of students to come.

The Sustainable World online course is a project of Professor Malcolm Potts for the Consortium of Universities for Global Health. The course is converting UC Berkeley’s Public Health 101 course “A Sustainable World” into an online curriculum and lecture series to be used by universities around the world. Your role as editor will be to edit and perfect each module video, overlay the video with the powerpoint presentation, and suggest areas for improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Edit 10 lecture modules, ranging from 20 minutes to 1 hour in length
  2. Overlay each module video with the allotted powerpoint, following the format of previously edited modules
  3. Improve lighting and sound of each video
  4. If time allows, add subtitles to each video

Qualifications:
  1. Demonstrated experience with video editing software
  2. Experience with adding graphics
  3. Attention to detail and timely communication
  4. Available to commit to up to 10 hours per week (with flexibility) for the semester
  5. Interest in international development, public health or food security is a plus
