Social Media/Marketing Intern - Fall 2019

This Student Intern II position supports SelectHealth Marketing in social media efforts by performing assigned tasks or assisting with assigned projects, allowing the incumbent to gain an understanding of B2C and B2B social media.
Essential Job Duties 
1. Participates and is involved in a variety of projects that support the needs of SelectHealth social media. Works with the Social Media Specialist and members of the Digital Marketing team to identify solutions and perform tasks that accomplish individual and team goals. 
2. Attends team/department meetings and actively participates to share knowledge and skills that are pertinent to the meeting. 
3. Contributes to social media strategy and planning. 
4. Assists with daily functions and maintenance of social media responsibilities, including but not limited to, updating and maintaining the editorial calendar, scheduling content in advance of publishing, sharing content as appropriate with clinical partners, monitoring and reporting on social media analytics, and tracking trending topics. 
5. Assists with auditing/tracking blog content to ensure accuracy and relevance. 
6. Acts as a contact between third-party vendors to schedule multimedia production.  
7. Project Assistance: May be assigned one or more specific projects during the internship. Demonstrates an understanding of the process and accountability for the results/outcomes. Works independently or as a member of a team to accomplish the tasks necessary to successfully complete the project. Involves others when needed in a timely manner and work to meet project timelines. 
Posting Specifics
  • Entry Rate: $15.00/hour

  • Shift Details: 15 hours/week
  • Department: SelectHealth - Strategic Communications department
  • Additional Details: This position is a temporary fall internship. While flexible, we anticipate that will begin late August/early September and run through December.
Minimum Requirements 
  • Student in business fields (Finance, Communications, Marketing, HR, legal, etc.), who is in their third or fourth year of an undergraduate program at an accredited institution. Education is verified.
  • Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and e-mail and scheduling applications.
  • Experience in a role requiring effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Writing, editing, and publishing on social media
  • Marketing support
  • Photography and design experience
  • Proficient in the following programs: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube
  • Candidate must demonstrate excellent writing and research skills
