Law Graphic Designer/Administrative Assistant

Job Description:
The Korea Law Center/Public Law & Policy Program/Anglo-American Studies Program/Veteran’s Law Practicum Graphic Designer/Administrative Assistant provides a wide range of operational support for the above center and programs, including both print and Web graphic design, social media platform maintenance and website maintenance. The Graphic Designer/Administrative Assistant will be responsible for a variety of daily or periodic duties as governed by the center/programs’ needs and assigned by the Program Manager or other designee. Examples of such duties are: design and layout of center/program promotional materials (typical materials include nametags, marketing flyers, event programs and the Annual Bulletins), creating logos and flyers for events; designing and maintaining web pages and updating the various websites and social media platforms as directed; providing minor general office support to center/program Directors and the Faculty Director.

Job Qualifications:
The successful candidate should possess strong interpersonal skills and should be comfortable in receiving close supervision and feedback, as well as working independently. The majority of projects and tasks will be completed off-site, with little direct supervision. As such, the candidate must be able to work independently to complete tasks on deadline. A very strong design aesthetic and attention to detail are required. Superior organizational and written (spelling, grammar, syntax) and oral communication skills (clarity, logic) are also required. Proficiency in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop are required. Experience in Wordpress, Berkeley Law’s website management program is strongly preferred (but not required) if the candidate can demonstrate mastery of other website development platform(s). Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) is also preferred.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize, exercise initiative, and persevere until tasks are thoroughly completed are vital, while exercising sound judgment with little or no supervision. We are looking for students who can train in Summer 2019 and continue work into the Fall and Spring 2019 semesters and beyond. Design students and work study candidates strongly preferred.
