Course Information:
Wildflower Golf Course is a championship golf course owned and operated by Fair Hills Resort located on Pelican Lake, just outside of Detroit Lakes, MN. Wildflower is comprised of 18 holes, with an executive 9-hole resort course, totaling 27 holes of Bentgrass greens and tees and Kentucky Bluegrass fairways and rough. Built in 1993 by Joel Goldstrand, Wildflower boasts a distinctive “Prairie Links” style golf course unique to the state of Minnesota.
Job Description:
The Assistant Superintendent will work directly under the Golf Course Superintendent. Will assist in personnel management and evaluation, employee safety, and disciplinary actions. Duties will encompass all facets of maintaining a championship level golf course from pesticide and fertilizer applications, water management, irrigation, course setup, and much more. Will be directly involves in the supervision of 10-15 employees, budgeting, creating and adapting the daily work schedule on a daily/weekly basis, and mechanical work, Wildflower is seeking motivated individuals who are passionate about the golf industry and desire to become a superintendent. Additionally, assistants will have the opportunity to gain experience in planning and execution of future renovations.
Job Qualifications:
Graduate from a 2 or 4 year turf program/ Turfgrass Certificate, 2+ years of golf course experience, and must be able to obtain MN Pesticide Applicators License (preferably prior to start date or within 30 days of starting). Strong organizational and work ethic, positive attitude, self-motivated, and proactive with a keen eye to detail.
