Junior Data Scientist/Statistician

YOUR TEAM

Your team is a group of highly talented individuals working together to promote higher quality and more efficient health care for Medicare beneficiaries, in support of the Quality Reporting Programs associated with public reporting of that information.
The team provides the data analytic and technical support needed for five (5) Post-Acute Care (PAC) Quality Reporting Programs (QRP) - Hospice, Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility, Long-Term Care Hospital, Skilled Nursing Facility, and Home Health Agency. Additionally, your team supports stakeholders, providers, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and other Federal partners, to achieve success in the reporting of standardized assessment data, quality measure data, resource use, and other measure data. CORMAC partners with CMS to monitor and identify program reporting compliance and continue performance measurement and quality improvement at the National level.


YOUR ROLE: 
 
As a Data Scientist / Statistician, your role is to follow the data: analyze, visualize, and review. You will work to reconcile quality reporting data from separate data collection systems for each provider to determine compliance with CMS’ quality reporting requirements through data analytic methodologies. You will perform data analysis to support quality reporting and provide ad hoc data analyses using exploratory data analysis tool in support of Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services initiatives.


YOUR INVOLVEMENT IN MAKING A DIFFERENCE:

·      Describe data structures used by data consumers in order to improve management insights for growth and to improve quality and effectiveness of analytics.
·      Reconcile quality reporting data gathered from separate data collection systems for each provider to determine compliance with CMS’ quality reporting requirements.
·      Present solutions to internal and external stakeholders, gather feedback, and iterate on methodologies
·      Monitor the analytic data environments and address data issues and problems. Submit reports to management that outline the changing data needs of the company and provide related solutions.
·      Use the latest advances in NLP, data science, and machine leaning to enhance our products and create new experiences.
·      Interact with operational staff to identify and pursue opportunities where quantitative techniques can create analytical efficiencies and improve outcomes.
·      Identify important and interesting questions about large datasets, then translate those questions into concrete analytical tasks.
·      Build quantitative models with data, and communicate the results of those models to decision makers.
·      Translate product ideas into detailed requirements, prototypes and strategy.
 
WHAT YOU BRING
 
·      Master’s degree preferred in Biostatistics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or other related field and/or discipline.
·      Atleast 1+ years of experience with healthcare and health data, have a passion to connect with, understand, and shape the healthcare industry.
·      Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as R, Python, etc
·      Should have extensive data analysis experience, should know about various exploratory techniques and able to present the findings to the end user.
·      Experience with Data Wrangling, Data modelling, Data Analysis/Data Quality.
·      Strong familiarity with data preparation, processing, classification, and prediction.
·      Strong oral and written communication skills as client facing experience is strongly preferred.
·      Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
·      Ability to work both as part of a team as well as in a self-directed manner.
