Toyon Associates, Inc., is a recognized leader in the healthcare reimbursement consulting field. For more than 35 years, we have maximized Medicare and Medicaid government entitlements for hundreds of hospitals and healthcare systems. Toyon is seeking an Entry Level Analyst who is interested in a career in healthcare, with the goal of becoming a consultant for our growing practices in Concord and Costa Mesa, California.


Job Description

The Medicare and Medicaid programs, which are administered by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services distribute approximately ~$790B in annual reimbursement to hospitals and physician practices nationwide. Analysts at Toyon Associates will learn the varied and complex government financial reporting and compliance requirements along with the reimbursement mechanisms and methodologies that are used to determine a hospital’s Medicare and Medicaid payments. Once domain expertise is gained, analysts are expected to validate the detailed financial and statistical information required by the programs and to provide insight and impact analysis to consultants and clients so they may determine how to best comply with the program requirements, while optimizing their government reimbursement. The services that an analyst will be exposed to within the first two years includes but is not limited to:
  • Medicare and Medicaid Cost Report preparation
  • Disproportionate Share Hospital eligible day compilation
  • California’s Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development Financial Disclosure Report preparation.
 
Job Requirements:
  • Detail oriented and able to work with large data sets
  • Possess strong analytical skills
  • Able to quickly identify data anomalies
  • Able to work independently with limited direct supervision
  • Possess a strong desire to learn and research solutions
  • Able to manage multiple assignments at once
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong PC skills, particularly in Excel. Access and Power BI are a plus
  • Able to pass background check and drug screening
  • Must be a US Citizen or pre-authorized to work in the US (work visa sponsorship not available)

Educational Requirements:
3.0+ GPA with BS or MBA in a business/math related field (Accounting Concentration a plus)
