Clinical Informatics Analyst

Function:
Reporting to the Clinical Applications Manager, the Fenway Health Clinical Applications Support Specialist (1) assists with Health Information Technology (HIT) related activities and (2) coordinates and collaborates with other departments on HIT including CPS, related projects. The Support Specialist’s main goal is to ensure that both CPS and its third party software integrations remain maximally functional and secure.
Manages Centricity Practice Solutions software application
  • Troubleshoots issues related to CPS software application suite
  • Troubleshoots issues related to HIT, third party software integrations relating to CPS
  • Assists with maintaining cross reference files and HL-7 interfaces with outside vendors such as commercial labs
  • Assists with CPS updates to clinical information and assists with requests for changes to CPS system
  • Contributes or develops standard operation procedures (SOP’s) and documentation of data systems related to CPS and third party vendors
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of CPS software application suite, related interfaces, and third party software integration
Provides support and training for the health center.
  • Assists in development of CPS and related project plans by providing accurate, deliverable timeframes
  • Participates in HIT and related project meetings as required
  • Coordinates with CPS liaisons and champion users to assess the organization’s CPS needs and priorities
  • Trains and assists departments with the adoption and effective use of CPS and HIT software applications
  • Works in conjunction with the Informatics group to test the integrity of the data captured in CPS.
  • Work directly with Clinical Department leadership to prioritize projects and troubleshoot problems.
  • Communicates regularly with IT and Medical Records staff to ensure collaborative nature of work.
  • Coordinates and consults with internal and external clients to gather information about program needs, objectives, functions, features, input and output requirements, and maintenance of project plans
  • Prepares and presents timely up to date or current data to meet the needs of projects
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization and outside collaborators

Performs related duties as required
Job Requirements: 
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree. Education in related field such as computer science, public health, medicine, mathematics, informatics, or social science, required.
Experience/Other Requirements
  • Experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Health Information Technology (HIT); Background with Centricity Practice Solutions is preferred
  • Experience working with cross reference files, HL-7, or interfaces a plus
  • Experience working with software vendors
  • Experience with various databases, including SQL Server or other data reporting/mining tools which are compatible with Oracle or SQL Server systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Ability to multi-task is required
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary and diverse team is required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft business suite applications (Excel, Word, Power Point, Access) is required
  • Experience with LGBTQIA+ populations is preferred
  • Customer service skills are required
  • Self-Management skills are required
Supervisory Responsibility
Responsible to answer questions from other staff in the absence of the CPS Analyst and Associate Vice President for Health Informatics and Data Services.
