Summer Internship- Corporate Communications and Brand Team Intern

DESCRIPTION OF ASSIGNMENT
The Corporate Communications & Brand Team intern will gain experience in the variety of brand-building, culture and employee engagement initiatives typical of a corporate communications and marketing department. By the end of the summer, the intern will have experience in in researching and drafting an early version of our biannual corporate social responsibility report; organize and implement a modern, searchable photo filing system; support the team in developing and implementing a brand strategy.
 
TYPICAL JOB ASSIGNMENTS
1. Review material in our most recent corporate social responsibility report and then conduct research to update it for the next edition. Work with an eye toward how else we might expand the meaning of social responsibility. Draft the text for a new edition, collect photos, graphics and data.
2. Explore alternatives for photo storage and make recommendations for any software upgrade that would be necessary. Analyze and catalogue our existing corporate communications photo archive and determine methods for making it searchable, either through our current servers or a third-party platform. Also, review alternatives and make recommendations for long-term archiving of historical data and electronic files.
3. Work with the brand team as it develops and implements brand strategy. Assignments could include writing for our National Life blog, participating in our WIN (women’s inclusion network) field strategy and communication, and developing brand-building social media content.
