The National Life Group Internship Program was developed to provide real workplace learning and growth opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students. Over the years the program has provided students with the opportunity to engage in career-relevant work at National Life Group in preparation for full time employment. This is a temporary position.
This internship assignment is for the Risk team within the Financial Management Group.
Vermont: National Life Group is located in Montpelier, Vermont (130 miles (210 km) south of Montreal and 290 km (180 miles) north of Boston). Montpelier is the Capital of the state of Vermont and is centrally located to many ski resorts, biking and hiking trails. National Life group is 45 minutes south of Burlington (the largest city in Vermont) a college-town located on the eastern shore of Lake Champlain.
Responsibilities:
Projects may include:
- Preparation of risk dashboards for quarterly Board of Director meetings, including data accumulation, organization and population of required materials.
- Assist in the on-going development and improvements to the company’s credit risk model to quantify default and migration impacts on capital requirements.
- Assist in use and development of RSA Archer, a governance and risk compliance (GRC) application used by the company to evaluate operational risks in an efficient and effective manner.
- Review existing procedure and methodologies documentation and update as needed.
