Enterprise Risk Management - Senior Analyst, San Francisco CA

Wilbur-Ellis is seeking an experienced Enterprise Risk Management Analyst in San Francisco.

General Purpose and Scope of Position:

The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Senior Analyst plays a critical role in enabling the ERM team, as well as the organization’s ability to manage risk by providing information through the aggregation, analysis and reporting of actionable data insights; ultimately ensuring better decision making and execution of changes across the organization. This position will “own” the RMIS (Riskonnect) system and serves as subject matter expert in that regard. Further, and as it relates to RMIS, the ERM Sr. Analyst will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the system as well as ensuring data flows into and from the system seamlessly. The ERM Sr. Analyst will work closely with other enterprise-wide groups to improve the efficiency and quality of data collection, storage, and reporting. Critical to this role is the ability to serve as the primary resource for analysis of claims and exposure data, regulatory reporting compliance, and provide general data support for business decisions.

Key Skills and Abilities Include:

  • Risk Management Information Systems (Riskonnect experience, a plus)
  • Database Architecture knowledge, Salesforce Object Development, preferred and Cognos experience a plus
  • Ability to create reports and dashboards in a clear and visually compelling manner
  • Strong spreadsheet and database query expertise (e.g. SQL)
  • Tenacity in finding creative solutions to business needs and demand planning through the use of data
  • Broad understanding of business processes and measurements of business success
  • Must possess strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to set priorities
  • Skill in creative and critical thinking to achieve goals
  • Working knowledge of business in the Asia Pacific and other foreign countries a plus 
  • Minimum five years' work experience in data management and reporting with knowledge of risk and insurance management 
  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, risk management, finance, accounting or business with reporting emphasis or augmented training 
  • Willingness to deepen technical expertise during job tenure is essential

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverable's Include:

  • Managing Systems
  • Works collaboratively to optimize business intelligence solutions supporting the entire organization including production level solutions for risk management and associated processes
  • Lead strategy for continuous development and refinement of WE’s RMIS system 
  • Create reports and dashboards for visualization of metrics driving risk decision making
  • Serve as the “gatekeeper” for RMIS enhancements ensuring that they improve and not hinder current and critical functionality
  • Create processes to ensure data is clean, aligned and accessible at all times  
  • Serve as the relationship manager for ERM with IT, HR and other business partners for data automation and loading into RMIS for delivery of metrics and analysis
  • Develop vision for, oversee and manage all future RMIS system features/module roll-outs
  • Become ERM subject matter expert on data available in various systems used by the organization such as enterprise resource planning system (JDE), the business intelligent system (BI), SharePoint, internal data warehouse, and other information sources, both internal and external
  • Ensure data integrity of data in RMIS, developing reports and processes for early identification of potential issues prior to data use
  • Extract Transform and Load data to facilitate reporting
  • Manage the collection, organization and manipulation of large amounts of data, requiring a commitment to quick and accurate reporting
  • Responsible for executing pertinent group and departmental metrics
  • Participate in evaluating new technology and oversee Request for Proposal process, as necessary
  • Data Collection, Reporting & Analysis
  • Work with ERM team, Business Operations and business leaders to understand information needs; providing effective solutions for delivery of data reports both on regular and ad hoc basis
  • Develop methodologies to effectively deliver data trends including automation of dashboards that can be refreshed and/or created on demand
  • Develop solutions for generating specific metrics and, when required, collaborate with the enterprise information systems teams on implementation including owning critical processes central to the delivery of accurate employee metrics
  • Utilize the system data reporting functionality to maximum efficiency
  • Troubleshoots issues of data quality, accessibility, and alignment, working with business partners and IT to improve usability
  • Develop, document and implement processes and procedures for the identification, collection and analysis of risk management insurance renewal data
  • Responsible for annual insurance budgets, quarterly loss allocations and monthly accounting & legal claim financial reports 
  • Provides loss and exposure data to actuaries as required and assists with evaluation and explanation of reports
  • Take initiative for analytics to support ERM and Business strategic objectives
