Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence Software Engineer Intern

SoKat is seeking applicants for a Machine Learning Software Engineer Intern in the Washington, DC area.

 

This is a paid, full-time, in-person internship. 

 

SoKat is focused on developing and implementing advanced ML/AI and Blockchain solutions for its clients by ingesting and modeling big data. SoKat has deep relationships with academics and works closely with its clients and has a strong team that thrives on continued learning and curiosity. We build and deploy useful ML/AI and Blockchain solutions that have real-world impact on business and society.

 

We are seeking applicants with strong software development skills, with a keen interest in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and blockchain, and who are excited by continued learning and manipulating large data sets. Applicants will have the opportunity to learn and develop ML/AI/Blockchain algorithms and be exposed to other advanced AI tools.

 

In this role, successful candidates will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative and fun team that values knowledge sharing, and who works to create tools that exceed client expectations. Primary Responsibilities:

·      Clean, arrange, merge, and manipulate data sets using Python

·      Stay up-to-date with current technology trends and contribute new ideas to the team

·      Present findings every week to the team and senior stakeholders

·      Contribute to team discussions - internally and with the client

·      Always consider ways to make code more efficient

·      Write Python code relating to ML/AI and TensorFlow 2.0, Keras, NLP, BERT, LSTM, GANs, etc.

·      Eagerness to learn about techniques relevant to data cleaning and manipulation

·      Academic or professional experience in some or all of the following areas are preferred:

·      Working toward a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in computer science, computer engineering, or physical sciences

·      Experience with Python (especially Numpy, Pandas, Scipy, NLP, Juypter)

·      3.75 GPA or above desired

·      Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·      Desired: working knowledge of Git/Bitbucket, Crucible, JIRA, react.js, D3.js, Go, bash, Linux

 

 

Applicants must have lived in the US for the last 3 years.

Applicants must be able to work 40 hours per week.
