Computational Science Analyst II

The Osten Laboratory at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is currently seeking a Computational Analyst II to join their team. The Computational Science Analyst II will be joining an exciting brain-mapping project funded by the NIH BRAIN initiative, which is focused on generating quantitative whole-brain maps of neuronal cell types, including their 3D distributions and cellular morphologies.

A major conceptual focus of the project will be developing and implementing advanced image processing algorithms (e.g. machine learning algorithms) and software (e.g. MATLAB, C/C++, LabView) for reconstruction, registration, segmentation and analysis of the whole-brain datasets.


EDUCATION: Masters or Ph.D. degree in a quantitative field such as: bioinformatics, statistics, computer science, physics, mathematics, or biology.

EXPERIENCE: 3- 5 years of experience in image processing using some of the following: MATLAB, Python and Labview, ITK, VTK, CMake, C/C++, TensorFLow/Caffe/Keras.

SKILLS: Must have excellent communication skills.
