Associate

To satisfy the needs of our growing client base, Hamilton Lane is looking to hire an Associate in our Client Services Group, working out of the San Diego office.

This individual will work within the Client Services and Relationship Management team, providing a superior level of service to clients and assisting to maintain portfolios. The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively and operate across multiple clients and priorities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work directly with Relationship Managers and analysts on client deliverables and special projects.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of assigned client portfolios and the investments within these portfolios, including representing the client interests across various departments of the firm
  • Maintain portfolio cash flow modeling and use of various proprietary reporting and analytics software
  • Assist in client portfolio development, including maintaining portfolio summaries, responding to allocation decisions and preparing strategic plans
  • Work with other departments internally, including fund investment team, legal, research and reporting, to aggregate information needed to help prepare client deliverables
  • Coordinate assigned projects and special project work with allocated resources.
  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual reports for clients.
  • Respond to client and fund investor questions and special requests (analyze reports/informational requests), interact with Relationship Managers to ensure that the required level of client service is being provided.
  • Assist with other duties and special projects (including portfolio modeling) as needed.

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS; Education and/or Experience:

  • 3+ years of work experience; accounting or finance a plus
  • College degree (B.A., B.S. or B.B.A.); CFA or Masters a plus
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must be detail oriented and organized and possess good analytical skills.
  • Must be able to handle multiple assignments/initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work proactively and independently in a team setting
  • Potential for light travel
