Education: An engineering degree, scientific or technical field directly related to the task to be performed and / or vocational / military certifications. 

Months/Years of Experience: A minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience is required, depending on duties and requirements of the position. One (1) year of expertise must be in Technical Management. Alternatively, people in this category may have a combination of vocational and / or military certifications in a science, engineering or technical field and seventeen (17) years of experience.

Duties: Serves as a test manager for designated aviation and / or missile systems, aviation platforms, associated launchers and associated platform, missile and launcher test equipment. Must be able to link the technical capability of designated aviation and missile systems, technical risk, performance and compatibility with other Army and Sister Service's battlefield systems to meet overall Project / system goals, schedule and performance. Plans and conducts testing / engineering assessments on an assigned aviation or missile project. Interacts with research / technical staff. Discusses progress and interim findings at technical review meetings. Continue with project in original concept or modifies direction based on engineering or technical assessment. Assists with test set up, test resources and equipment and uses experimental materials to test theories developed. Works with customer technical and test personnel, Army and DoD test agencies to test out theories / or findings.

Required Qualifications: U.S. Citizenship.  Must have or be able to obtain a security clearance. Engineering / Scientific / Technical degree or equivalent military / vocational certifications with experience in testing / test management of aviation and missile systems / components / subsystems and associated hardware / systems.

Desired Qualifications: Project office experience with a general understanding of how aviation and / or missile test / engineering processes relate to the program / acquisition process. Understanding of the systems engineering process as it relates to aviation and / or missile programs to review requirements allocation and traceability. Must have a good working knowledge of test set up, test planning, conduct of test and test reports. Individual should be proactive and independent in the engineering and testing process, yet willing and capable to work as a team member as part of the larger organization.

Comments: Travel to selected CONUS and OCONUS locations is possible. Travel is estimated to be 20 % of the time.
