Technical Associate

Dev Technology Group is recruiting for new or recent college graduates to enter our Technical Development Program (TDP) as a Technical Associate. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates who want to grow in a career in the IT services or government contracting industry.
Candidates could have a background or educational focus in software development, business/systems analysis, data analysis, user support, or related area with the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Technical experience is preferred but not required, and candidates can later decide if they prefer a technical career path or one that grows into business analysis and project management.

The Technical Development Program Experience: 
Through participation in the Technical Development Program (TDP), the Technical Associate may support a wide variety of tasks and initiatives across multiple projects, which may include the following:
  • Provide application design and development support
  • Assist with creation and maintenance of user stories and tasks in tools such as JIRA, TFS, etc.
  • Create and execute functional and automated test plans 
  • Interact with customers and end users regarding aspects of the software
  • Provide user support, such as talking to users, researching issues, documenting solutions
  • Research new technologies, processes, and tools, and present to stakeholders
  • Participate in Dev Technology corporate initiatives that support and maintain the company culture and Core Values of Integrity, Respect, Collaboration, Innovation, Resilience, and Community
TDP participants will engage with various departments across the company, assisting with a variety of efforts as they gain increased exposure and develop relationships throughout Dev Technology.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Demonstrated a strong interest in software development or related technical areas through past employment or academic/personal projects (e.g. GitHub portfolio, etc.)
  • Ability to quickly absorb and learn application functionality well enough to explain it to someone else
  • Understanding of application technology stacks and how they function together
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent diplomacy and communication skills with both clients and technical staff
  • Excels working as part of a team
  • Openness to continuous learning and receiving constructive feedback in order to improve

Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies including Scrum, Kanban, or Lean practices
  • Knowledge of software development concepts and best practices

Education and Certifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred; Candidates who complete an extended technical training program will also be considered
