2020 Simulation Intern

About the Internship
The Simulation Intern plays a unique role in driving the future of supply chain. The 10-12 week project within the Fulfillment Center Engineering team focuses on conducting detailed simulations along with the advanced data-analytics associated with Walmart e-commerce fulfillment network. Challenges you’ll be tackling are:
  • Building Detailed Simulations: You will be responsible for building detailed DES/Agent/Process based predictive models to identify the bottlenecks with current operations and to test/iterate and validate the designs for future fulfillment centers.
  • Data Analytics: You will be responsible for defining, cleaning and analyzing the input and output data from your models to the stakeholders.
  • Ensuring zero-defect analyses: You will work collaboratively with field engineers and on-site management and associates to ensure data integrity and validate correct conclusions.

About You
We are looking for passionate, driven interns to join our best-in-class supply chain team and build the future of supply chain. The ideal candidate has a demonstrated passion for tenaciously solving complex problems through data.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Operations research, Industrial Engineering, data analytics
  • Strong GPA and a commitment to academics
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Proficiency in data analytics platforms such as SQL, Python
  • Startup mentality: scrappy, creative, and constantly iterating to be best-in-class

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using industry standard simulation tools such as Flexism, Anylogic, Demo3D, Enterprise dynamics
  • Understanding of distributed storage/computing methodologies/tools: Teradata, Hadoop, Spark
  • Proficiency in any of the commonly used dashboard tools such as Tableau, Klipfolio, Looker, Dash, etc.
