Manufacturing Engineering Intern - Summer 2020

We are currently looking for an intern to join our manufacturing team in our Redmond, WA office.

This program will run 11 weeks from May-August 2020. This is a full-time opportunity involving 40 hours per week.

As a Manufacturing Engineer Intern, you will contribute to our mission by working with the teams responsible for delivering product innovations to market.


Job Duties:

The Manufacturing Engineering Intern will assist with the implementation of Lean Principles at a state of the art medical device company. Position includes:

* Working to improve the flow of product through the manufacturing processes

* Helping to create a culture of continuous improvement

* Performing time studies, working with assemblers to create standard work and line balancing

* Learning how to facilitate a lean simulation including the TWI training approach

* Working with the production team to solicit and implement their continuous improvement ideas.

A typical day for you will include:

*  Collaborating with your supervisor and team to complete role-related assignments and projects.

*  Actively engaging in and adding value to meetings and discussions.

*  Engaging in other duties, as necessary.

Job Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Must be enrolled in a full time undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited 4-year institution.

*  Must complete sophomore year before the internship begins and graduate after the internship ends.

*  Preferred fields of study include manufacturing, engineering, or business.

*  Demonstrated ability to balance academic and extracurricular commitments (i.e. work experience, clubs, volunteer activities, teams, etc.). 

* Must possess excellent analytical and organizational skills.

*  Must be proficient and have practical knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

*  Must be able to work well within a team and independently at times with limited guidance. 

*  Must not now or in the future require immigration-related sponsorship.**
