Event, Marketing & Donor Relations VISTA

POSITION
Work with top medical and community volunteers at our award-winning free clinic on our 8-Member VISTA Team to enhance health, impact, and financial data to expand healthcare access & student training. Become a Data Analyst AmeriCorps VISTA at Rhode Island Free Clinic for a year of national service in “the Domestic Peace Corps.” Gain transferable skills public health data research, reporting and analysis, patient care for health disparity populations, quality improvement and grant reporting/writing.

Rhode Island Free Clinic (www.rifreeclinic.org) is nationally recognized for its volunteer/community partner model. In 2019 the Clinic mobilized an active statewide corps of over 700 medical volunteers, support professionals, and community partners throughout RI to provide over 11,000 patient visits and a medical home to uninsured, low-income RI adults. We believe in strengthening our community by giving people resources and education to help themselves. The Clinic also serves as a training site for aspiring healthcare professionals. Services and training are provided at the Clinic’s state-of-the-art, 8,000 square foot facility in Providence, and around RI at sites of collaborating partners.

The Clinic seeks a savvy, high organized Data Analyst VISTA to build the Clinic’s capacity to incorporate quantitative and qualitative data and analysis into its reporting and decision making, and to collaborate with top medical professionals to collect, analyze, and interpret health data, comparisons, and impact analysis to develop best practices informed by data. An integral part of the Clinic’s team of 9 staff and 8 AmeriCorps VISTAs, this person is responsible to champion data collection and reporting; create, manage and manipulate data sets to enhance program development, evaluation, and performance improvement; produce reports using results of data set manipulation and analysis, and thrive in the Clinic’s highly professional, personable, dynamic volunteer model.

DUTIES
· Build the Clinic’s data management capacity by actively working with our VISTA Team and award-winning corps of medical and academic partners; including for quality improvement, grant writing and reporting.  
· Research, collect, analyze, and report on patient health access/outcomes and healthcare trainee outcomes
· Coordinate data collection for internal/external reporting, including the Clinic’s Medical Advisory Committee
· Provide monthly reports on Clinic statistics including health indicators, volunteer model, and financial impact
· Become proficient analyzing electronic health record data using statistical software and analysis
· Identify opportunities & work energetically & creatively to pursue innovative data analysis and reporting initiatives
· Work with VISTA Team to enlist volunteers and partners; empowering them to achieve data research, reporting and analysis goals, and champion other data projects as needed in the Clinic’s dynamic environment 
· Evaluate the effectiveness of data analysis initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
· Savvy self-starter with demonstrated initiative and interest in data analysis, population health, and program evaluation
· Demonstrated achievement in mathematics, analytics, computer science, or logic applications  
· Attention to detail, with excellent analytical, organizational, and written and oral communication skills
· Flexible and capable problem solver with entrepreneurial, can-do spirit
· Creative thinker, enthusiastic people person & team player with the ability to motivate others
· Ability to thrive and prioritize in a fast-paced progressive environment
· Demonstrated ability to research and report strategic data
· Familiarity with statistical software preferred but not required
· Commitment to the Clinic’s mission, volunteer model, and service to the uninsured
