Responsibilities/Qualifications:
- Serve as confidential secretary to the principal and as a facilitator for the school/public being served in communicating information, problem-solving, and coordinating facility use, record keeping, and purchasing Responsible for the overall operation of the office.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community.
- Act as a liaison between school and community, principal, parents, staff, and students.
- Type correspondence, forms, purchase orders, etc.
- Answer telephones, respond to routine questions and route calls to appropriate personnel. Schedule appointments with parents, students, staff, and others with the principal.
- Schedule and notify parents/staff of IEP meetings for the middle school.
- Compile, prepare, distribute a monthly newsletter, daily announcements, student/teacher handbooks, scheduling handbooks, calendar of events, procure information for Hooray, etc.
- Record staff attendance, prepare payroll, prep of payroll, timesheets, change of status forms, etc.
- Receive visitors and resolve routine student problems, assist with injured/sick children.
- Schedule the use of the building during the school day and after hours.
- Direct and provide assistance to substitute teachers and be certain all classes are covered, contacting and hiring substitutes during the school day.
- Coordinate Open House, Parent Information Meetings, Conferences, etc.
- Maintain and process school budget, purchase orders, activity accounts, deposits, vouchers, etc.
