Laboratory Technician III

Job Summary:

To set up and conduct a variety of laboratory tests and experiments by applying established methods, procedures, and techniques in support of research studies directed at understanding bacterial biofilm formation. To work as an editorial assistant to organized manuscript review and processing for the Journal of Bacteriology.

  • Conducts laboratory experiments, utilizing a range of established methods, procedures, and techniques with necessary preparations; observes experiment, records observations, and maintains laboratory notebook. 80%
  • Prepares appropriate and understandable representations of data such as graphs, charts, tables, statistical summaries, etc. 5%
  • Laboratory maintenance: orders lab supplies, monitors laboratory equipment and instrument performance, obtains maintenance and repair as necessary. 10%
  • May assist with editorial work, receives, organizes and maintains submitted manuscripts, monitors reviewer progress, communicates with reviewers and authors. 5%

Required Qualifications:
  • Degree in Biological Sciences or the equivalent in education and experience.
  • One year of relevant laboratory or science experience or the equivalent.
