Intern, Advisory and Intermediary Solutions

Our full-time summer internship program starts in May or June and requires a 10 to 12 week commitment. The Russell Investments Advisor and Intermediary Solutions (AIS) team – the distribution team for U.S. retail mutual funds – is dedicated to providing a high quality, value-added sales and service experience by building and maintaining relationships with financial professionals. The AIS intern will be responsible for working on key projects and business initiatives, while supporting daily operational activities. The intern will perform a multitude of tasks and will have the opportunity to work directly with the Defined Contribution (DC), Registered Investment Advisor (RIA), business development and portfolio consulting group teams and will work independently on projects. This internship is located in our New York, NY office.
The responsibilities of the individual in this position include:
Defined Contribution (DC)

  • Support DC group in developing a robust competitive analysis of DC managed account providers and fiduciary solutions
  • Coordinate the development of managed accounts training guide for call center
  • Coordinate the development of streamlining investment menus for use in multi-asset portfolios

 Registered Investment Advisor (RIA)

  • Coordinate the development of with digital marketing campaigns including CRM management
  • Support business developments efforts on content creation including market research, competitive landscape and industry trends
  • Assist Regional teams with sales and service initiatives

Business Development

  • Work with Head of Business Development on key accounts and high level sales management initiatives

Portfolio Consulting Group

  • Support Consulting Analysts in performing competitive analysis on Russell Investments multi-asset product set relative to other 3rd party strategists
  • Assist in compiling managed account AUM and product standing at various distribution partners

The successful candidate will have extensive demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:
  • Must be enrolled at an accredited university and in a 4-year undergraduate program. A minimum overall GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
  • Proficiency working with Excel, Word, and MS Outlook. Experience working with database applications and PowerPoint is also desired
  • Candidates must be detail oriented, possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Preference will be given to candidates majoring in Finance, Business Administration, Marketing, or other related majors
  • Must be available 40 hours per week.
