What we’re looking for
SoulCycle is seeking a Data Science Intern who wants to be part of our hands-on Tech Team . Candidates will help own analytics for a particular product or business at SoulCycle and work with product managers and engineers to translate the analysis into meaningful impact to the business.
Our 12-week paid full-time internship program generally runs from May-August. Participants in the inaugural technology internship pod will be tasked to execute a potential business initiative collaboratively to help drive and enable growth. We are creative, analytical, and disruptive. If you are data obsessed and passionate about how machine learning can translate to practical problems- this is a great opportunity for you!

Here’s what you’ll do
- Perform large-scale data analysis to extract useful business insights
- Identify actionable insights, suggest recommendations and influence the direction of the business by communicating results to cross-functional groups
- Collaborates with a Product Manager and Engineering team to proactively manage decisions for opportunities and innovation
- Classify leads so that the teams can work on the most valuable cases
- Suggest improvements in the tools and techniques to help scale the team
Requirements
- You have strong communication and writing skills
- You can take complex ideas and distill them into simple and understandable specifications
- You love being challenged, constantly want to grow your skills and learn new things, and you're extremely passionate about what you do
- You have an entrepreneurial spirit, who does not wait for things to happen
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelors, Masters or PhD degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related technical field
- Experience in solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches (or equivalent)
- Experience with SQL or other programming languages (Python, Java, and/or C++)
- Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
- You enjoy talking to highly technical customers
Plus
- Prior internship experience in a Software Engineering, Data Analytics, or Data Science technology role
- Development experience in at least one scripting language (PHP, Perl, Python, etc.
