Intern, Business Development (Washington, DC Metro Area)

Position Description: We are looking for a select number of students enrolled in either a demanding undergraduate or graduate course of study with a passionate interest in the intersection of business and world-class engineering. 

As part of our Business Development team, you will bring your talents and dedication to develop and support proprietary tools and solutions for our customers that are making workplaces safer and more productive all over the world. Given the interdisciplinary exposure that comes with this role (you may be interacting externally with the marketplace and internally with multiple core functions of the business), this position is an ideal role for individuals seeking to develop their managerial skill set by leveraging their love of client engagement and understanding of client requirements. 

Responsibilities include:
·       Apply sound business and engineering principles to technical problems
·       Be naturally curious and relentlessly driven to find the best solutions for our clients
·       Help bridge across functional teams within the firm and maintain focus on wielding current and future capabilities to serve client needs

Key Qualifications include:
·       Currently pursuing at least a Bachelor’s Degree with a strong academic record
·       Excellence in writing and speaking ability
·       Positive attitude with inquisitive nature
·       Self-starter - driven and energetic
·       Genuine interest in both the business side and the engineering side of innovation
·       Genuine interest and emerging ability in building win/win relationships in current and new markets
·       A sense of excitement about contributing to the world through innovation and business professionalism

Preferred Skills and Expertise include:
·       Undergraduate training in Business, Economics, or Engineering
·       Experience and/or genuine interest in working directly with customers to provide solutions
·       Experience and/or genuine interest working in an innovation-driven environment
·       Excellence in working with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
·       Some familiarity with 3D modeling (SolidWorks preferred)

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire. Temple Allen is a non-smoking environment.

Compensation: Approximately $2,000 per month; we require a minimum of a two-month commitment
