2020 Tunnels, Bridges & Terminals Operations Fellow

The Port Authority’s Tunnels, Bridges and Terminal Department runs some of the busiest and most critical transportation facilities in the New York-New Jersey metropolitan region. The six vehicular crossings (the George Washington Bridge, Lincoln Tunnel, Holland Tunnel, Goethals Bridge, Bayonne Bridge and Outerbridge Crossing), and the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown and the George Washington Bridge Bus Station in northern Manhattan serve nearly 1 million travelers daily. It takes a dedicated team of hundreds of men and women to operate these facilities safely, efficiently, and with a high standard of customer service. We are rebuilding facilities and systems, with two major bridge replacements and a new electronic toll collection system underway, and several mega projects on the horizon, including the replacement of the world’s busiest bus station, the Port Authority Bus Terminal. Our program of infrastructure and systems renewal provides an opportunity to reimagine our operations for the 21st century.

The Port Authority’s Operations Fellows Program is an opportunity for passionate individuals to help shape the future our transportation network. As part of this program, we are seeking transportation professionals with an interest in operations management to join our Tunnels, Bridges and Terminals team. Since the opening of the Holland Tunnel in 1927, the Port Authority has been a leader and innovator in surface transportation. This is your chance to join the Tunnels, Bridges and Terminals team as we connect the region in new ways for generations to come.
