Business Development Intern

Job Overview
This is a great opportunity for learning and gaining business development skills! As a Business Development Intern, you will support the Business Development Team and CEO in the development of new business opportunities. This position is focused on building partnerships in various ways; performing market research, creating marketing materials and actively reaching out to companies and individuals in order to grow our business.
 
Responsibilities
•       Conduct in-depth research on new business leads and prospects, providing up-to-date tracking and reporting on lead conversion rates.
•       Conduct comprehensive company research with the core business development team for use in RFP response plans.
•       Collaborate with Sales and Strategy teams to generate overarching strategic direction of new business pitches.
•       Support preparation for capabilities meetings including creating custom materials, logistics around location, etc.
•       Research and analyze industry/market trends, new business opportunities using various researches and forecast methodologies.
•       Research and identify potential partnerships, sourcing contact information.
•       Seek and analyze competitor sales materials both on and offline.
•       Maintain tracking report of public relations activity.
•       Provide support to social media efforts.
•       Learn both inbound and outbound marketing/business development efforts.
•       Maintain administrative tasks as necessary – e.g., case study development, database development, etc.
•       Research, develop, manage, and enhance a database of prospective clients utilizing a variety of different tactics.
•       Conduct calls to prospect clients

Requirements:
•       Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business or marketing/communications/business.
•       Must be in Junior or Senior year of college.
•       Ability to work 20+ hours per week in Birdi’s Pasadena office
•       Persistent, positive attitude toward following up and tracking progress.
•       Self-motivated with a process and data-driven mindset.
•       Solid written, verbal, presentation and analytical skills.
•       Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, and Power Point).
•       Ability to collaborate effectively as a team member.
•       Ability to work in fast-paced environment and resourceful in achieving success in the face of ambiguity while prioritizing and managing multiple responsibilities.

Physical Requirements:
•       Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
•       Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
