Brand & Political Communications Strategy Intern

Whitman Insight Strategies is a strategic market research and communications consulting firm specializing in corporate branding, issue advocacy efforts, and select political work. We use innovative technologies to provide our clients with the insights and strategies they need to win in a competitive marketplace or on the campaign trail. 

Our client roster includes a range of brands such as IKEA and Maker’s Mark, institutions and organizations such as Penn State and the IAVA, and political figures such as Mike Bloomberg.

We are looking for a summer intern who is intelligent and proactive, with strong writing and organizational skills, and an interest in the intersection of business, politics and communications.

Candidate requirements:
  • Incoming junior or senior at an accredited undergraduate university
  • Preferred majors are psychology, politics, international relations, business, economics, and statistics—but all are welcome
  • Minimum 3.4 GPA
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Effective written communication skills
  • Facility with numbers
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong background in MS PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Independent, can work with minimal direction
  • Proactive and creative thinker who contributes ideas

 Primary responsibilities:
  • Work directly with analysts and management on all facets of the business
  • Conduct background research for new client projects
  • Create PowerPoint slides for client presentations
  • Accurately enter data into reports
  • Analyze quantitative data and qualitative findings
  • Aid in the development of proposals, questionnaires, and presentations
  • Responsibilities may increase according to ability and initiative
