Research Assistant for Technology Based Sexual Health Studies
The UNC Center for Global Health and Infectious Diseases (GHID) is a multi-departmental center within the School of Medicine which exists to conduct infectious disease-related scientific, clinical, epidemiological, and behavioral research domestically and internationally, as well as provide technical assistance for the developing of HIV care and prevention programs.
Specifically, the Behavior and Technology Lab at UNC (BATLab) facilitates health behavior change through conducting technology-based research on all aspects of sexual health including factors that impact the acquisition, transmission, and treatment of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections. The UNC Behavior and Technology Lab is a part of the Division of Infectious Diseases in the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill School of Medicine.
This position will assist in organizing, conducting, and evaluating two health behavior research studies within the Behavior and Technology Lab (BATLab). The range of responsibilities would include but are not limited to: assist in project planning, assist in database management, assist in data/information collection and entering into data systems, assist in recruitment and enrollment/retention of study participants, and assist in planning and preparing publications. This position is in charge of helping organize and execute two large research studies – one specifically around Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) medication adherence and another around HIV antiretroviral therapy (ART) medication adherence.
