Director of Operations

SWAN is looking for a recent graduate for a new position within the organization: Director of Operations. Successful candidates will have some connection to military culture or veteran status, will have experience in non profit development and fundraising, and will be able to work independently with exceptional initiative.

Director of Operations Job Description and Duties
The Direct of Operation is responsible for the daily operations and activities of the Service Women’s Action Network. She manages staff, maintains internal and external communications. 
 
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
●     Liaise with the Chief Executive Officer to make decisions for SWAN’s operational activities;
●     Oversee development activities alongside CEO, including but not limited to: event planning, grant research and writing, grant report writing, monetary and in kind donation tracking, donor stewardship;
●     Continually update SWAN’s Master Operations Manual;
●     Monitor organizational emails;
●     Plan and monitor daily operations including maintaining and updating the organizations calendar;
●     Manage office procurement and material allocation;
●     Ensure proper scheduling, management, and execution of SWAN events;
●     Supervise intern staff and assist with communications and development tasks;
●     Advertise and manage intern program;
●     Monitor, track, and share vital information with staff and Board of Directors;
●     Help coordinate communication between staff and Board of Directors;
●     Run weekly staff meetings by publishing agenda and taking and distributing meeting notes;
●     Revise and/or formulate operational policies and promote implementation.
 
Qualifications:
●     Bachelor’s degree or higher;
●     A functional knowledge of WordPress or similar website platforms;
●     Experience with non-profit development/management
●     Experience with event-planning and external coordination;
●     Experience with email marketing tools such as EveryAction and Eventbrite, etc;
●     Experience working with social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram;
●     Reliable communication and collaboration skills;
●     Excellent organizational and management skills;
●     Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel;
●     Ability to work independently and
●     Ability to edit, produce, and design content a plus;
●     Veteran status is a plus;
●     Must be fluent in English.
