Industrial Engineering Intern- Kaizen Promotion Office
Lumentum is currently transforming the way we look at Quality as a culture. As a part of this transformation effort the Quality team is developing a new functional excellence program. In this assignment you will be a part of the Quality and Functional Excellence team helping to expedite the development and implementation of the Lumentum Production System. In this position you will gain real-world hands on experience in a high tech company and will also participate in an internship program that includes many exciting activities including lunches with executive team members, presentations, and more.
Duties performed will include but are not limited to:
- Creating a training program on the new Lumentum Production System
- Develop templates and training for new tools
- Partner with Manufacturing teams to drive process improvements
- Conduct time studies and interpret data sets
- Map processes and develop standard work
- Logistics and Team planning activities for Kaizen events
- Other projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Qualified candidates will be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Systems Engineering or a related major. Students must be returning to school following the internship.
