Technical & Lab Move Manager (Hines@Facebook)

As a Technical Space and Lab Move Manager with Hines, you will manage the technical moves team, take ownership of strategic planning, customer satisfaction, move communication as well as transparency and reconciliation of costs associated with all offsite move-related activities. In this role, you will work closely with Workplace Planning Technical Planner, lab owners, facilities operations, vendors, and end-users to ensure successful moves and installations. Additionally, you will assist with forecasting move requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Experience with reviewing and approving quotes for move activities including specialty move activities (rigging, cranes, assembly/disassembly)
  • Subject matter expert for specialty equipment involved in move process (knowledgeable of equipment getting moved, intricacies of moving specialty equipment and can build familiarity with client sites
  • Onsite coordination of move & rigging vendors
  • Demonstrates ability to guide customers (lab managers/users) through move process to occupy an existing or new space
  • Responsible for executing developed scope, schedule, and budget for all technical / lab moves
  • Develop and lead teams of key stakeholders, internal team members and vendor partners to meet the deliverables of the project
  • Able to manages multiple ongoing projects and prioritize importance
  • Conducts onsite field audits before, during and after completion of move
  • Facilitates move meetings and ensures that all meetings are accurately documented and distributed to stakeholders
  • Familiarity with Staging / Inventory practices
  • Onsite supervision and management of Moving Vendors for all Lab Moves
  • Demonstrates capability to read and understand move documents including but not limited to: agreements/contracts, drawings, client work requests, vendor proposals, electrical, and data management documents and building infrastructure documents
  • Identifies move management resources from pre-qualified lists and conducts request for proposals and completes bid analysis for approval (if applicable)
  • Oversees the move administrative processes and maintains accurate move documentation files in a timely manner
  • Ability to manage vendors on-site, including access to site, security, etc.
  • Develops and maintains complete knowledge of vendor service and material capabilities, with complete understanding of vendor processes and deliverables
  • Communicates directly with client to define move goals and provide reports on move status and variances
  • Ability to clearly and concisely summarize move scope and timing with internal clients and leads
  • Provides measurable and timely response to client inquiries, work requests, and concerns
  • Ability to prioritize and escalate onsite issues as appropriate

Minimum Requirements include:
 
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution preferred
  • Seven or more years' MAC (Moves, Add, Change) services or relocation experience
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, Project and Google Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Comfortable working in a construction-site environment from time to time
  • Must be available for occasional weekend or evening work as required by move schedules
