Professional Development Program Overview

This two year full-time program focuses on providing you with the opportunity to grow your professional skills along with the Niagara business. The program will give you the opportunity to experience several different assignments in a variety of departments that will ultimately lead you to a full-time role. The goal of the program is to transform recent college graduates or rising seniors into high-performing Analysts, Specialists, or Engineers in the business. Additionally, the program supports the individual’s growth through exposure to the business, skill development, and networking opportunities. Specifically, you will participate in monthly learning sessions that will cover topics like time management, professional communication, and personal brand!


Department Responsibilities
This Supply Chain program is designed to help participants build a foundation of cross functional supply chain experience and gain the skills necessary to become a future leader within Niagara’s Supply Chain team. PDP will rotate and gain experience across the following functions:
  • Logistics Operations
  • Carrier Relations
  • Planning
  • Manufacturing
  • Customer Service
Throughout the program, participants will identify and work on a project with the objective of improving a process, reducing supply chain cost and/or improving service for a customer.  Participants will work with their manager to identify an area of opportunity, put together a project plan and utilize their training to start working on their project.       

Preferred Qualifications & Education
  • A candidate should be a graduating senior in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program (or a recent alumni) in any of the following areas of education:
Supply Chain
Industrial Engineering

Program Dates
  • PDP participants begin anytime between January to July 2020 

Location
  • Positions are located at our Headquarters in Diamond Bar, California
  • PDPs may be eligible for a relocation bonus! 

Essential Functions
  • Collaborate with leader to develop and adjust rotation schedule.
  • Contribute to day-to-day operations and projects in each department rotation.
  • Bring suggestions for continuous improvement to rotation departments.
  • Seek out feedback from leaders and peers to guide individual development planning.
  • Make connections with department leaders and build valuable cross-departmental relationships.
  • Participate in professional skills development opportunities, such as learning sessions, training courses, and stretch assignments.
  • Conduct a final presentation on key learnings from your rotations and recommendations.
