Production Planning Co-op - Fall 2020

Micromeritics is seeking a co-op student in our Materials Administration department. This student will work alongside Micromeritics production planners to support the planning and scheduling of products and materials through various production phases based upon MRP requirements.

Specific Co-op Duties:
  • Assist in implementation of planned production schedules, labor loading, and capacity requirements
  • Review schedules to determine materials and parts requirements to ensure materials are available according to schedules
  • Assist production planners and master planners in coordinating products and materials through various production phases

Production Planning Co-Ops will develop experiential knowledge in the following:
  • Best practices of production planning
  • Development and implementation of production schedules, labor loading, and capacity requirements
  • Cross-departmental coordination of various production phases
  • Internal supply chain planning practices

Schedule: 40 hours per week during Micromeritics core business hours (7:30am – 4:15pm)
Compensation: Micromeritics offers an increasing compensation scale for returning co-ops. 
  • 1st work term: $15/hour
  • 2nd work term: $16/hour
  • 3rd work term: $17/hour
 
Requirements:
Education: Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university co-op program, pursing a degree in Supply Chain, Production Planning, or related field. Must have completed Freshman year. Must be available to complete at least 2 full-time work terms (consecutive or non-consecutive).

Knowledge & Skills: 
  • Coursework in production and/or supply chain planning
  • Exposure to and/or experience with MRP/CRP systems a plus
  • Awareness of basic manufacturing processes a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong PC skills, including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access)
  • Strong problem-solving ability
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs.

MICROMERITICS CO-OPS
Co-ops are available to students actively enrolled in an accredited college or university co-op program. All co-ops are paid positions with an increasing compensation scale for co-ops returning for additional work terms. During a work term, co-ops work 40 hours per week, usually during Micromeritics' core business hours (7:30am - 4:15pm).
