About EdOps and the Consulting Team
EdOps is a B-Corp specializing in the finance, student data and operations work of leading schools. Our mission is to minimize the financial, operational, and compliance demands of running a school and to support education leaders with data-driven insights to improve student outcomes.

Our consulting team is a nimble group of skilled, accessible professionals with extensive experience in school operations. We are EdOps’s go-to team for discrete projects of all sizes, and we work across our finance, facilities, student data, HR analytics, and operations service lines to help our clients improve their schools.

What You’ll Do
We are looking for a summer Consulting Intern who is passionate about operational excellence and interested in K-12 education. As a summer intern, you will:
  • Work closely with full-time consultants who will provide coaching, mentorship, and occasional snacks
  • Take responsibility for specific streams of project work. This may involve process modeling, process improvement, Excel-based analytics and modeling, research, and other strategic client support
  • Interact with clients by participating in meetings and managing follow-up
  • Most importantly, contribute to helping schools solve tangible and immediate problems

Depending on our specific project pipeline, as a summer intern, you may have the opportunity to:
  • Present directly to client management (school leaders and boards)
  • Conduct empathy interviews or focus groups
  • Conduct quantitative analysis in Excel
  • Travel nationally
  • Present on key operational issues internally at EdOps and contribute to our broader thought leadership efforts

Who You Are
What is true about you:
  • You are in the process of getting an advanced graduate degree (e.g. MBA, MPP, etc.); Undergraduate students will not be considered for this role.
  • You have an excellent academic record (GPA, scores), or a good story of why not
  • You are great at working with other people, but can get things done on your own
  • You can think strategically and break down problems into manageable components
  • You are able to communicate verbally and in writing in a clear, concise, and professional way
  • You are comfortable with quantitative analysis
  • You have a passion for (or at least a deep interest in learning about) education and schools’ operational issues

We’d also love to see the following:
  • Prior experience in a non-profit or other mission-driven organization
  • Prior experience in management consulting, education, or operations
  • Demonstrated experience or interest in school finance or school operations
