Role and Responsibilities
Technical professionals are defined by what they create. Samsung’s Smart TV Services group located in Mountain View, CA is currently recruiting world-class engineering Interns who share our “Innovation through passion” philosophy and thrive in a well-paced, results-driven environment.
Necessary Skills / Attributes
Responsibilities will include:
• Contribute towards building a system with a test driven development / agile approach
• Design and implement the core data management services and ETL pipelines written in Scala and python.
• Work with Data team to automate tests as part of the core development
• Participate in design and code review sessions.
Skills and Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred.
- Strong development skills in Java, Scala and/or C++.
- Familiarity with Big data technologies like Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, Hive
- Knowledge of various databases / database technologies - Oracle, Postgres, Cassandra (NoSQL).
- Familiarity with version control software, such as Git.
The qualified candidate will possess the following:
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Orientation to detail.
- Consider yourself a curious, high-level thinker.
- Passion for quality and writing clean, solid, readable code that scales and performs well.
- Ability to work tactically and strategically at the same time.
- A public repository on Git.
