TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:
Performs detailed analysis (statistical/quantitative, spatial, and qualitative) for internal and external customers at all levels (i.e., executives, middle & front-line managers, community groups, and the general public);
Designs, builds, and maintains analytics tools, including explanatory and predictive models, data visualizations, web maps, and analytical applications; conducts workshops to gather technical requirements; plans and executes testing of minimally viable products; plans and leads sprints to deliver new product features;
Applies knowledge of IT systems generally and analytic tools specifically, including Excel, SQL, R and/or Python, ArcGIS, Tableau, and Power BI;
Designs, plans, and coordinates cross-departmental governance and analytics projects, partnerships, and initiatives;
Leads training sessions on data, analytics, mapping, and lean process improvement;
Represents the Mayor's Office of Innovation at meetings with key internal and external stakeholders; effectively communicates technical concepts to a non-technical audience;
Prepares and delivers professional technical and non-technical reports and presentations to key internal and external stakeholders;
Helps to maintain and evolve the City's Open Data Portal;
Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Master's Degree in an applied analytical or technical degree field (e.g., applied statistics, applied
mathematics, data or policy analysis, computer science, information technology, applied economics, business analytics or intelligence, etc.) PLUS two (2) years of direct, practical experience providing data/analytics support.
OR
B. Bachelor's Degree in a degree field as described above PLUS four (4) years of direct, practical experience providing data/analytics support.
