Director of Operations

The University of Nebraska at Omaha is seeking a
Director of Operations
National Counterterrorism, Innovation, Technology and Education Center of Excellence
Center for Collaboration Science

The Director of Operations oversees the daily operation of the National Counterterrorism, Innovation Technology and Education Center of Excellence (NCITE) and supervises members of the support staff. Works closely with the NCITE Director and Director of Transitions and Innovation to execute strategic planning, ensuring that projects progress in accordance with their stated objectives; resources are used effectively; project coordination is maintained across the Executive Advisory Board, Department of Homeland Security, and NCITE partners. Ensures operational issues are resolved in a timely manner. Other duties include working with project leads to ensure all projects remain on track for meeting their objectives on time and on budget and taking any necessary actions to ensure adequate resources are available commensurate with project goals. Additionally, the Director of Operations ensures all financial and other support staff understand their roles and NCITE priorities and successfully execute their functions.

The National Counterterrorism Innovation, Technology and Education (NCITE) Center is one of ten Centers of Excellence designated to support the Department of Homeland Security. The NCITE Center will provide cutting edge research and workforce development programs to counterterrorism professionals in the Homeland Security Enterprise through a 10-year Cooperative Agreement between UNO and DHS Science and Technology, Office of University Programs. The NCITE Center will be housed in the new addition of Mammel Hall on UNO’s vibrant Scott Campus in Omaha’s entrepreneurial Aksarben Neighborhood


Required Qualifications:
·        Bachelor’s degree in business, psychology, international relations, political science, communications, or a related field
·        minimum of five years of work experience in a university, government, business, or policy setting.
·        Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a member of a collaborative team.
·        Experience must demonstrate excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, and ability to problem solve collaboratively.
·        Due to the nature of the grant funding, US Citizenship is required.

Salary Information: Commensurate with qualifications.
