Job Summary
Under close supervision, the Genentech Human Resources Internship Program provides qualified students with an excellent opportunity to gain industry knowledge, receive valuable on-the-job training, and learn about the many HR roles at Genentech. Interns receive challenging work assignments that add value and impact the organization. Our internship program is a pipeline to the internship if eligible for conversion. As such, interest and an ability, upon completion of degree currently in progress, to immediately start the full time program are essential. The internships are located at the company’s San Francisco campus.
 
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
Intern duties will vary based on specific assignments and anticipated business needs, but will be within the responsibilities of one of the functions outlined below: Talent Acquisition: develops and maintains external recruitment sources for exempt and non-exempt positions, as well as recruits, interviews, assesses, and places applicants to effectively meet company human resources needs. Compensation: responsible for designing and implementing competitive and cost effective total compensation programs, practices, and solutions that support management in leading a high performance culture. Employee Relations: develops an understanding of Employee Relations issues, state and federal employment law regulations and corporate HR policies and procedures. An intern within Employee Relations will gain exposure to managing all HR activities for an assigned business group and may assist in the development of HR policies and programs by partnering with other HR functions. Other internship opportunities may include: HR Generalist, Diversity, Enterprise Leadership and Organization Development and HR Operations. 

Minimum Qualifications
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources or related discipline.
Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
• GPA of 3.0 or greater is preferred. Prior HR related work experience a plus.

Skills and Competencies: Demonstrated interest in a career in Human Resources. Motivation to succeed. Strong analytical and communication skills. Demonstrated leadership potential and involvement in school organizations and activities. 

Location: San Francisco, CA 
$2,700 stipend will be provided to assist with relocation expenses should you be selected for this role.
