Electro-Mechanical Engineer

Role Title: Electro-Mechanical Engineer

Job Description:
  • Mechanical integration of PCB assemblies in cast/stamped/machined metal or molded plastic enclosures.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer (automotive electronics packaging, thermal management experience preferred, optics/vision systems experience a plus).
  • Strong background in automotive electronics mechanical packaging and interconnection technology.
  • Printed circuit board housing assembly and component manufacturing including injection molding, die-casting and/or stamping operations and trade-offs.
  • Ability to generate detailed model and drawings from sketches, specifications, and/or verbal instructions.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design fundamentals and practices.
  • Experience with automotive Class A surfaces & passenger compartment packaging preferred.
  • Knowledge of standard CAD & Drafting practices and procedures, preferably CATIA V5+; familiarity with other CAD design packages preferred.
  • Proficiency in GD&T and dimensional annotation.
  • Experience with FEA process and tools desired (mechanical and thermal).
  • Use of PLM, or other Project Data Management tools for storage, archival, and revision control of output products.
  • Familiarity with OEM CAD Portals or Team Centers preferred.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent people skills, ability to work well within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and to manage multiple priorities as project workload demands.
  • Training in IATF-16949, APQP, FMEA, DOE and VPDS structure and practice, as required.
  • Bachelor's degree - Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, Master’s degree preferred.
