Arizona State Interpreting Licensure Required
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Individual positions may be responsible for some or all of the listed duties and/or other related duties
- Provide interpreting services for the Board of Directors, Superintendent,and Agency staff
- Interpret at educational meetings, parent conferences,and staff workshops
- Interpret for students in a classroom setting and/or extracurricularactivities, when necessary
KNOWLEDGE OF:
- Policies, procedures, and programs of the immediate work unit
- Principles and practices of administration and management
- Agency or program rules, regulations, and operating procedures
- RID Code of Professional Conduct
- Techniques for communicating non-verbally by using body language, mime, facial expression, gesture, and cues
SKILLED IN:
- Understanding and utilizing a variety of communication modes
- Organization and planning
ABILITY TO:
- Communicate information and ideas effectively so that others will understand
- Convey the message, evaluate the receiver's comprehension of the interpretation, and adjust and modify as needed
- Maintain confidentiality
- Stand for long periods of time
SPECIAL CONDITIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to pass FBI and State background check
- Defensive Driver Training Program to be completed by all agency personnel that drive on State business
- Valid InterpreterLicensure and Certification per State and National requirements
