ROLE SUMMARY:
To support the photo services department by scanning and retouching photos, assisting in archiving and filing of images, maintaining equipment, supplies and department records, assisting on photo shoots and working on special projects.
Specific Functions/Activities SUMMARY:
1. Scan and retouch photos to established technical standards.
2. Routine back-up of digital files
3. Caption and archive images into database.
4. Make photo prints.
5. Maintain records relating to digital images.
6. Maintain records of department activity.
7. Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies.
8. Assist with photo shoots as required.
9. Assist with photo requests and editing as required.
10. Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong background in photography/graphic arts, journalism and/or creative services, excellent organizational and communication skills, and an ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Proficient in digital imaging technology and processes, including scanning, retouching and file formats (experience on Macintosh platform required). Extensive experience with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop, Bridge and Lightroom, and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
SUPERVISION:
This position is supervised by the Photo Services Manager.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB:
The Photo Services department provides photography services to all business units, including photographing events, maintaining the company’s photographic archive, digitizing images and providing images for reproduction to users both inside and outside the company. There are also special projects, such as documenting the images used throughout our facilities, planning for upcoming events and testing photo equipment. General support and assistance is needed to enable us to accomplish all our tasks.
