JOB SUMMARY

Functions as a key finance professional responsible for assisting in the preparation and filing of SEC reports – Annual and Quarterly report on Form 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K and other registration filings including preparation and review of the earnings release. He/she will assist with the management of quarterly reviews and annual audits with our external auditors. External Reporting Analyst will be involved in various special projects as necessary, including implementation of new accounting pronouncements, researching and documenting technical accounting issues, and Sarbanes Oxley compliance in related finance areas. 
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist in the preparation of Earnings Per Share calculations including dividend and treasury stock reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of all SEC periodical and other reports (Form 10-Q, Form 10-K, Form 8-K, etc.), including MD&A.
  • Assist in the preparation of required XBRL exhibits.
  • Prepare and file governmental reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of equity based compensation reports
  • Assist in accounting research and drafting of accounting memos.
  • Provide support to internal and external auditors as required and ensure SOX compliance.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of annual impairment of goodwill and other intangible assets.
  • Provide support internal reporting team, as required.
  • Point of contact for external auditors during quarterly reviews, annual audits and interim test work. Assist in managing external auditors’ requests and schedules in order to complete quarterly reviews and annual audits in accordance with reporting deadlines, Board of Director meetings, Audit Committee meetings, etc.
  • Assist in the preparation and disbursement of Financial Reporting packages to upper management (CEO, CFO, Controller, VP’s, etc.).
  • Liaison with operating units and other corporate departments – Legal, Tax, Treasury, Investor Relations, Segment Finance.
  • Support action plans to improve processes, automate and streamline external reporting.
  • Special projects as required. 
 
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • The candidate must have an understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) disclosures/accounting policy and SEC reporting rules including underlying theory, prior experience with XBRL reporting (Workiva), ability to prepare technical disclosures including the ability to convey complex disclosure requirements in a non-technical manner and excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Successful candidates should be detail oriented, drive development and efficiencies, and the ability to work with various internal departments. A working knowledge of Hyperion Financial Management and an understanding of internal controls including Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance will be an added advantage.
  • Requires mathematics skills, reading and comprehension skills, writing skills, communication with all levels in the organization. Requires the ability to work self-directed including time management and the ability to multi-task concurring priorities.

EDUCATION

  • CPA required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
 
EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience with a combination of public accounting (preferably big 4) and industry experience in the Finance, or Accounting function of a publicly held company.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience with Hyperion Financial Management, XBRL and/or Workiva a plus
