Insights and Analytics Manager

Ygrene is an award -winning PACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy) funding company. Ygrene offers financing for residential and commercial energy efficient improvement projects. Our mission is to improve the environment and strengthen communities, by removing the barriers to financing of energy efficient home or business improvement projects for our customers.  We have an opening for a stellar Marketing Insights & Analytics Analyst. 

The Insights and Analytics Manager will support the development of analytic capabilities to help the company make data-driven decisions based on a deep understanding of marketing strategy, customer experience, sales process, and conversion funnel; they will analyze data to make actionable recommendations that optimize marketing spend, sales conversion, and operational efficiency.
 
Insights and Analytics Manager Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Drive a culture and practice of analytics across the company. This includes identifying key performance metrics, developing and implementing means to measure and track progress, and driving decisions based on the data.
  • Provide insights to help leaders across the business – marketing, sales, operations and product development.
  • Understand performance, behavior, and trends.
  • Identify and quantify levers to help move the needle on key metrics.
  • Develop frameworks and analytic solutions to optimize customer acquisition, conversion, and operational efficiency.
  • Utilize advanced analytics, statistical techniques, and data visualization to answer critical business questions. This includes performing analytical deep dives to identify problems and required actions; collecting, processing, and cleaning data from disparate sources using analytics tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, R, Python); and managing the design, execution, and analysis of experiments.
  • Support leaders across the organization to understand key questions, develop analytical projects, gather necessary data, and deliver solutions.
  • Support new business case and strategy development by building models.
  • Report against company initiatives by building dashboards for executives, as well as cross-functional team members.
  • Support development of new analytic capabilities, which includes working with 3rd party vendors and collaborating with BI and technology teams. New capabilities include the enterprise data warehouse, real-time data and reporting tools, and measurement strategies (e.g., attribution models) to optimize property owners’ full lifecycle engagement.
  • Manage and maintain the quality of multiple data systems. Examples of this include quality-testing new additions to the data warehouse, ensuring all marketing ads have unique tracking codes, and identifying, scoping, and communicating issues to data engineers.
 
Analytics & Strategic Planning: 60% of time spent
  • Analyze data to answer critical business questions
  • Build models to contribute to strategic planning (e.g., spend targets, marketing mix, segmentation)
  • Share findings with leaders and teammates to develop strategies and plans
  • Provide regular reporting on KPIs across business
Data Development & Maintenance: 30% of time spent
  • Develop new analytical capabilities and data infrastructure. Define requirements, communicate with data engineers, and quality-test the final product
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues with data/technology stack, communicating with necessary stakeholders
  • Build dashboards to democratize data across the organization
Other Duties as Assigned: 10%

Insights and Analytics Manager Skills and Experience:
  • 1 – 3 years in data analytics, management consulting, or other quantitative roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Finance or related fields; Master degree preferred.
  • Experience designing, executing, and analyzing quantitative and qualitative research.
  • Talented in deriving actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Ability to solve ambiguous problems in a structured, hypothesis-driven, data-oriented way.
  • Resourcefulness and persistence in pursuing challenging projects.
  • Experience with analytic tools and techniques (e.g., hypothesis testing, experimentation, regressions, machine learning, Matlab, R, Python). Advanced knowledge is a plus.
  • Experience with SQL and ETLs preferred.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate complex concepts and prepare compelling executive presentations.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated track record in building strong cross-functional relationships.
 
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
This position operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, and filing cabinets.
Work environment is indoors with majority of time spent sitting at a desk.
This is a full-time position.
Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Occasional travel is expected for this position.
